ועזריה בר עודד שרת עלוי רוח נבואה מן קדם יי:
yy qdm mn nbwah rwkh elwy shrth ewdd br wezryh
The Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded.

ונפק קדם אסא ואמר קבילו מני אסא וכל יהודה ובנימין מימרא דיי בסעדכון במהויכון אזלין בארחתיה ואין תובעין אתון אולפן מן קדמוי ישתכח לכון בעדן עקתכון ואין תשבקון דחלתיה ישבוק יתכון:
ythkwn yshbwq dkhlthyh thshbqwn wayn eqthkwn bedn lkwn yshthkkh qdmwy mn awlpn athwn thwbeyn wayn barkhthyh azlyn bmhwykwn bsedkwn dyy mymra wbnymyn yhwdh wkl asa mny qbylw wamr asa qdm wnpq
He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin! Yahweh is with you while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

ויומין סגיאין לדבית ישראל לא יתפלגון על דבית יהודה ומטי בתר ירבעם ולא פלחו לאלהא קשוט והוון סגדין לעגלין דדהב ולא הוה להון כהין מליף זכו אלהן כומריא דמסקין קטורתא לפולחנא נכריתא ולא אתעסקו באוריתא:
bawrytha athesqw wla nkrytha lpwlkhna qTwrtha dmsqyn kwmrya alhn zkw mlyp khyn lhwn hwh wla ddhb leglyn sgdyn whwwn qshwT lalha plkhw wla yrbem bthr wmTy yhwdh dbyth el ythplgwn la yshral ldbyth sgyayn wywmyn
Now for a long time Israel was without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law.

ותבו כד עיק להון לפולחנא דיי אלהא דישראל ותבעו אולפן מן קדם יי וישתכח להון:
lhwn wyshthkkh yy qdm mn awlpn wthbew dyshral alha dyy lpwlkhna lhwn eyq kd wthbw
But when in their distress they turned to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them.

מטול דבעדניא האנון לא הוה שלמא לדנפיק לחקלא ולעליל לקרתא ארום שגושתא סגיאין על כל יתבי ארעתא:
aretha ythby kl el sgyayn shgwshtha arwm lqrtha wlelyl lkhqla ldnpyq shlma hwh la hanwn dbednya mTwl
In those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great troubles were on all the inhabitants of the lands.

ועבדו סיעתא עמא בעמא קרי בקרי ארום מימרא דיי שגשנון בכל עקתא:
eqtha bkl shgshnwn dyy mymra arwm bqry qry bema ema syetha webdw
They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.

ואתון דבית יהודה אתקפו ולא יתרשלן ידיכון ארום אית לכון אגר טב לעיבדתכון:
leybdthkwn Tb agr lkwn ayth arwm ydykwn ythrshln wla athqpw yhwdh dbyth wathwn
But you be strong! Don’t let your hands be slack, for your work will be rewarded.”

וכד שמע אסא ית פתגמיא האלין ופתגמי נבואתא דעודד נביא אתקף ואעדי שקוציא מכל ארעא דבית יהודה ובנימין ומן קרויא דכבש מן טורא דבית אפרים וחדת ית מדבחא דיי די קדם אולמא דיי:
dyy awlma qdm dy dyy mdbkha yth wkhdth aprym dbyth Twra mn dkbsh qrwya wmn wbnymyn yhwdh dbyth area mkl shqwtsya waedy athqp nbya dewdd nbwatha wpthgmy halyn pthgmya yth asa shme wkd
When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed Yahweh’s altar that was before Yahweh’s porch.

וכנש ית כל אנש יהודה ובנימין ודדירין עמהון מדבית אפרים ומדבית מנשה ומדבית שמעון ארום שרי עמיה מדבית ישראל לסוגי במחמיהון ארום מימרא דיי אלהיה בסעדיה:
bsedyh alhyh dyy mymra arwm bmkhmyhwn lswgy yshral mdbyth emyh shry arwm shmewn wmdbyth mnshh wmdbyth aprym mdbyth emhwn wddyryn wbnymyn yhwdh ansh kl yth wknsh
He gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who lived with them out of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon; for they came to him out of Israel in abundance when they saw that Yahweh his God was with him.

ואתכנשו לירושלם בירחא תליתאה לשתא חמסרי למלכות אסא:
asa lmlkwth khmsry lshtha thlythah byrkha lyrwshlm wathknshw
So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.

ודבחו קדם יי ביומא ההוא בחגא דשבועיא מן עדאה דאיתיאו תורא שבע מאה ואען שבעא אלפין:
alpyn shbea waen mah shbe thwra daythyaw edah mn dshbweya bkhga hhwa bywma yy qdm wdbkhw
They sacrificed to Yahweh in that day, of the plunder which they had brought, seven hundred head of cattle and seven thousand sheep.

ועלו בקימא למתבע ית דחלתא דיי אלהא דאבהתהון בכל רעותהון ובכל נפשהון:
npshhwn wbkl rewthhwn bkl dabhthhwn alha dyy dkhltha yth lmthbe bqyma welw
They entered into the covenant to seek Yahweh, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;

וכל די לא יתבע מן קדם יי אלהא דישראל יתקטל למן זעירא ועד רבא למן גברא ועד אתתא:
aththa wed gbra lmn rba wed zeyra lmn ythqTl dyshral alha yy qdm mn ythbe la dy wkl
and that whoever would not seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

וקימו קדם יי בקל רב וביבבא ובחצוצרתא ובשופריא:
wbshwprya wbkhtswtsrtha wbybba rb bql yy qdm wqymw
They swore to Yahweh with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets, and with cornets.

וחדו כל אנש יהודה מטול קונמא ארום בכל לבהון קימו ובכל רעותהון תבעו דחלתיה ואשתכח להון ואניח יי להון מן חזור חזור:
khzwr khzwr mn lhwn yy wanykh lhwn washthkkh dkhlthyh thbew rewthhwn wbkl qymw lbhwn bkl arwm qwnma mTwl yhwdh ansh kl wkhdw
All Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found by them. Then Yahweh gave them rest all around.

ואוף מעכה אמיה דאסא אעדיה מלמהוי מלכתא מטול דעבדת טעותא למגחך קדם אשרתא וקציץ אסא ית טעות גיחוכה ואדיק ואוקיד וטליק בנחלא דקדרון ומן בתר דתבת מעכה אמיה דאסא למהוי כשירתא אהדר ית שמה מיכיהו בת אוריאל דמן גבעתא מן בגלל דלא למדכר ית שמהא קדמאי דלא למתגניא ביה:
byh lmthgnya dla qdmay shmha yth lmdkr dla bgll mn gbetha dmn awryal bth mykyhw shmh yth ahdr kshyrtha lmhwy dasa amyh mekh dthbth bthr wmn dqdrwn bnkhla wTlyq wawqyd wadyq gykhwkh Tewth yth asa wqtsyts ashrtha qdm lmgkhk Tewtha debdth mTwl mlktha mlmhwy aedyh dasa amyh mekh wawp
Also Maacah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen mother, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; so Asa cut down her image, ground it into dust, and burned it at the brook Kidron.

ובמתיא לא עטרא מדבית ישראל לחוד לבא דאסא הוה שלים כל יומוי:
ywmwy kl shlym hwh dasa lba lkhwd yshral mdbyth eTra la wbmthya
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel; nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
18
ואיתי ית קדשי אבוי וקודשוי לבית מקדשא דיי סימא ודהבא ומניא:
wmnya wdhba syma dyy mqdsha lbyth wqwdshwy abwy qdshy yth waythy
He brought the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated, silver, gold, and vessels into God’s house.
